I love looking back at my notes from school. Not to review what I learned, but to see my doodles. From composition books to homework worksheets, nothing was safe. Art was a way to transport myself to somewhere else; to strange lands that mirror our own but with unexpected twists.
I seek to keep hold of the spontaneous creativity that so many of us seem to lose as we approach adulthood. Rarely do I have a concrete idea of what I’m about to draw when I turn on my tablet and don my drawing glove. I let my subconscious take the lead as I sketch an idea and map out the colors before meticulously lining and shading each section.
I hope to transport the viewers of my art into the colorful worlds I’ve created and inspire them to cultivate their own.
